How can I be sure you won’t switch my Diamonds?
The first thing is that switching a diamond out would be stealing.
We don’t steal and
we have a staff that we trust with our entire inventory.
We allow them to handle
our cash and loose diamonds.
Second is that we believe most people who think
that their diamond has been switched are mistaken.
The biggest problem today in
the jewelry industry is
non-disclosure of low quality at the point of sale.
This
means that a lot of jewelry is purchased with the customer
making an assumption
of high quality by the amount paid
or where the item was purchased.
When one buys an item from a mall jewelry store they might think high quality.
Some of the lowest quality jewelry and diamonds sold comes from mall
stores.
It does not matter how much you spend, you could still wind up buying
lower quality.
Let’s get back to the point.
At Randy’s Jewelry we
have our pride in our great reputation to protect,
so when you leave your jewelry for repair we loupe
it with you,
so that you know exactly the quality you own.
A loupe is a 10x power instrument to magnify your gems.
We take pride in educating our customers and
helping them loupe their diamonds.
When they pick up their ring they can loupe
it again to be sure it is theirs.
We will even map your stone so that you can
find the same imperfections in the future.
We saw a guest on the Opra Winfrey
show say that a reputable jeweler
would allow customers to go into the shop to
watch the jeweler work on your jewelry.
Our insurance company, and most others,
have a clause in the policy
that says your coverage could be voided if you allow
customers behind your counter.
We are sorry
when we have to inform some customers that they
have flawed merchandise.
They are disappointed, but they deserve to know the truth about their gems.
Disclosure is important
because we can’t have people suspecting that we switched their gems.
